I think it's close in terms of nationwide voters, but elecorally-speaking (is that a word?) I think Bush has the edge. We saw this last time, and we could very easily see a repeat. Unfortunately, the American public either doesn't care or doesn't understand the electoral college, so we still go by the nationwide polls.

Not really newsworthy except that Kerry couldn't get within 5 percentage points of Bush since this thing began.
Now after one debate, he's even. Ever wonder why? People wanted a clear explination from their president why we are in Iraq. They didn't get it.
Bush blew a MAJOR opportunity to close out this election and he couldn't.
Water is wet, the sky is blue and Bush may very well lose this election.
I think President Bush may have stumbled on purpose on this first debate, give Kerry a false sense of security for the next round. In 1984 President Reagan didn't do well at all in his first debate against Mondale, the 2nd debate it was a total K/O. So as President Reagan used to say "It ain't over until the fat lady sings.." I wouldn't give up on a Bush victory or expect a Kerry victory just yet.
I look forward to the Cheney-Edwards debate tomorrow night. I think Edwards may need reconstructive surgery after Cheney is done ripping him...

He then took a slight lead after said convention due to the 'convention bounce'. Bush took a lead after the Republican convention (again bounce related) that had been getting smaller even before the debates began.Quote:
